Markets made a V shape recovery.

The markets made a smart V shape recovery from the low’s and are now trading at the day’s high. The NSE Nifty hits the new 2009 highs. The strong opening of the European markets also boosted the sentiments. The Realty index today outperformed the benchmark indices as it now trading with a gain of more than 3.5%. Further the Banking, Metal and Capital Goods stocks are alos attracting significant buying interest in the afternoon trade. The broader markets continue to outperform the benchmark indices as both the BSE small-cap and the mid-caps are now trading with a gain of around 1% each.

The BSE Sensex is now trading above the 15900 mark and the NSE Nifty above the 4700 mark in the afternoon trade.
The overall market breadth is positive as 1521 stocks are advancing while 1188 stocks are declining in BSE.

Bharti Airtel reported the top gainer from the BSE Sensex pack, as it is now trading higher by (5.01%) at Rs. 437.35 while Tata Power reported the top loser trading down by (2.10%) at Rs.1,328.50.

At 2.36PM the BSE Sensex is trading higher by 141.40 points at 15,922.47 and the NSE Nifty is trading higher by 42.75 points at 4,730.95.

The BSE Mid Cap increased by 48.44 points to 5,870.94 and the BSE Small Cap grew by 70.24 points to 6,977.30.

The Realty index is trading with gains of 145.26 points or 3.52% at 4,277.45. Leading from the gainers pack are Omaxe Ltd trading up by 11.01%at Rs. 126.55 along with Penland by 7.44% at Rs. 94.55, Unitech by 5.07% at Rs. 98.50, DLF by 5.01% at Rs. 412, Mahindra Life by 4.58% at Rs. 379.90, Ackruti by 4.28% at Rs. 534.45, HDIL by 2.89% at Rs. 316.95, Anant Raj In by 2.97% at Rs. 155.90.

The Bankex index is trading up by 117.94 points or 1.42% at 8,428.56. Gainers from this pack are Oriental Bank trading higher by 2.50% at Rs. 178.25 followed by Kotak bank by 2.40% at Rs. 731, ICICI bank by 2.28% at Rs. 767.95, Punjab National Bank by 2.23% at Rs. 677.55, SBI by 1.94% at Rs. 1788.30, Union bank by 1.35% at Rs. 214.30 and Bank of Baroda by 1.20% at Rs. 427.

The most active shares on NSE are Unitech trading at Rs. 98.30 with a total traded quantity of 73136992 shares followed by Suzlon Energy trading at Rs. 92.25 with a total traded quantity of 24271409 shares.

McNally Bharat Engineering Company Ltd is trading up by 3.43% at Rs. 195.75. The company has informed that the Company has received an order for Supply and Installation of Water Pre-Treatment Plant Package for Rihand Super Thermal Power Project, Stage II (2X 660MW) for NTPC Ltd for a value of Rs. 24.69 crores. The contractual period of completion is 28 months.

Valecha Engineering (VEL) is trading higher by 9.98% at Rs. 93.10. The company has recently bagged new projects worth Rs 1.72 billion approximately which includes two road projects at Arunachal Pradesh worth Rs 790 million, construction of waste tank farm from Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Trombay, Mumbai worth Rs 150 million, bridge work at Thane Mumbai worth Rs 460 million and bridge work at Indore worth Rs 320 million.

On the global markets front, the European markets are now trading higher as the FTSE 100, DAX and CAC 40 index are trading up by (0.99%), (1.35%) and (1.27%) respectively.
