Tanishq redifines jewellery business

BANGALURU, Sept 10 – India’s largest retail jewellery brand Tanishq has virtually redefined jewellery business blending ethics and innovation to provide the best possible offers to customers.

Speaking to a group of visiting reporters at Titan Industries of Hosur near here, its jewellery division integrated supply chain management general manager Sanjay Ranawade said “we strive towards excellence and optimization at every level, and gold being not an area for Tata to make money. We have innovated the products in order to satisfy the customers”.

It was a unique experience to witness the process of making exquisite jewellery right from the gold processing stage (extraction of 24 karat gold) all under one roof.

The Karigar park, also at Hosur, is a vivid testimony of Titan’s effort towards preserving traditional expertise in view of the lack of interest of the younger generation for obvious reasons. About 150 budding Karigars, mostly kith and kin of the traditional jewellery makers work to hone up their ancestral expertise as hand-made jewellery is held in high esteem by customers.

Earlier, Saumen Bhaumik, general manager, head of retailing in his presentation explained about the techniques and designs used by the company to meet the growing demands of the customers in the country.

The efforts to produce special designer jewellery keeping the local traditional touches and designs intact has been a special endeavour of Tanishq that has become hugely popular, regional business executive Rajdeep Sarkar added.
