India doesn’t expect exodus of Dubai workers: Ravi

CHENNAI, Nov 28: India does not expect an exodus of its nationals working in Dubai in the wake of the debt crisis in the Gulf country, Overseas Affairs Minister Vayalar Ravi today said. Speaking to reporters here, Ravi said there was “nothing” to “worry” for India about the fall out of the Dubai financial crisis.

“During the beginning of meltdown there was some impact in Dubai at that time. Even I announced this in Parliament. As per a rough estimate, about a lakh of workers have returned from Dubai. But, many of them have gone back,” he said. “We are not expecting any kind of Indian workers exodus to India. I have got feedback from the Dubai Consul General Office and from the Embassy that there is nothing to worry”, he said. (PTI)
