Mutual funds in selling mode

Against an inflow of Rs 136.10 crore on 18 August 2009, mutual funds (MFs) sold shares worth a net Rs 190.10 crore on 19 August 2009 while MFs' net outflow of Rs 190.10 crore on 19 August 2009 was a result of gross purchases Rs 453.10 crore and gross sales Rs 643.20 crore moreover, the BSE Sensex lost 225.62 points or 1.5% at 14,809.64 on that day. Additionally, MFs sold shares worth a net Rs 810.70 in August 2009 whereas MFs had bought shares worth a net Rs 1825.50 crore in July 2009

Mutual funds in selling mode

Mutual funds (MFs) dumped shares worth a net Rs 587.80 crore on July 6, 2009. The market had tumbled that day after presentation of the Union Budget by the Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee. The Monday's outflows by mutual funds were in contrast to purchases worth Rs 303.80 on Friday, July 3, 2009.

The net outflow of MFs stood at Rs 587.80 crore on July 6, 2009 and this was a result of gross purchases Rs 949.20 crore and gross sales Rs 1,537 crore. The BSE Sensex tanked 869.65 points or 5.83% to 14,043.40 on that day. MFs were net sellers of shares worth Rs 657.10 crore in July 2009 (till 6 July 2009).

The Mutual funds bought shares worth a net Rs 839.30 crore in June 2009 as they put funds received from investors to use.
