Maruti launches Ritz in Guwahati

GUWAHATI, May 21 – Leading car maker, Maruti has introduced a new car-Ritz in the North East market today. The new car is available in petrol and diesel versions and has complied with BS-IV norms.

While launching the Ritz, SN Burman, Commercial Business Head (East Zone) of Maruti Suzuki India, said that the new car has been specially designed to meet the demand of the customers. “The new car is also fuel efficient and equipped with 1.2 litre petrol engine” he said while providing feedback to the reporters.

In this context, he informed that the company is working on a plan to make some changes on the existing models in order to comply with BS-IV norms. He, however, refused to divulge more in this regard.

Asked about the impact on the Maruti in the wake of global economic downturn, Burman said that the Maruti is the only company, which has handled the pressure of economic recession. “ We have been able to maintain the growth despite the ongoing global downturn,” he added. He also hinted a moderate price hike of Maruti cars soon.

Available in three versions , petrol version is priced in the range of Rs 4,07,304 and Rs 4,99,317 while the diesel version of the Ritz are available in the price range of Rs 4,82,317 and Rs 5,16,299.

On North East market, the senior official of the company said that this region is a major market for Maruti and therefore the company is eyeing more growth in the North East. “The new car will further strengthen our market share in the region,” he added. ASSAM TRIBUNE
